Founding
Gemini Legal is founded out of a spare bedroom in Visalia, California by Dan Mora. The company name and a logo—featuring twin Lady Justices—represents the company’s first service offering of legal document discovery.
Client Portal Technology
Expanding the ways in which Gemini Legal can support clients, Gemini Legal launches a unique client portal. This novel capability gives clients access to cloud-based technology for instant, 24-hour access to their orders as well as 100% status transparency, and the ability to run optical character recognition (OCR) searches.

Expanding into Southern California
The company expands its service area to better support the thousands of law firms in Southern California, particularly those focused on complex workers’ compensation litigation.
Rocklin, California Headquarters
Corporate headquarters moves from Visalia, California to the Sacramento metro area, allowing the company to access a larger talent pool and serve its clients even more effectively.

2018
Expansion into Workers' Compensation Vouchers
Gemini Legal acquires a post-settlement vocational counseling company that helps injured workers re-enter the work force. This new capability allows the company to serve both law firms and their workers’ compensation clients directly. Gemini Legal eventually becomes the only legal support firm in California to have two in-house certified vocational rehabilitation counselors.
JetFiler Software
JetFiler is launched, giving clients a way to electronically file workers’ compensation claims via an online portal while also streamlining records filing and processing. This Gemini Legal technology becomes the industry standard by which all electronic court filing and court documentation systems are judged.

Dan has crafted a vision and business methodology for long-term sustainability. He is a practiced market innovator and organizational leader. Dan is a president and active board member of multiple industry trade groups, and understands market nuance and highly regulated ecosystems. Dan is a proud veteran, husband and father.
Tony Daugherty
President
Tony leads through serving and empowering; improved business results with strict financial controls and lean management strategies. Tony is an avid adventurer, and achieved his personal goal of reaching the base camp of Mt. Everest in 2022.
Ashleigh Rivera
Executive Vice President
Ashleigh oversees day-to-day operations across key areas of the company, driving initiatives that align with and advance Gemini’s vision. Joining Gemini in 2010, Ashleigh held various positions within the company, developing expertise in problem-solving, project planning and change management. Off the clock, you can find her being the loudest cheerleader at her kids' sports events.
Justin Castillo
Vice President of Engineering & Technology
Justin specializes in web software development, system architecture and project management. He has worked with Gemini as a consultant and employee since 2018.
Ken Miller
Vice President of AI Research & Development
Ken’s focus at Gemini is creating the future of med-legal AI. He practices at the intersections of code, math, AI, psychology and design to create great products that people love to use. Ken joined Gemini in 2024.

Since joining Gemini in 2009, Frank has directed sales, product and innovation teams, crafting strategies that meet the evolving needs of Gemini's clients and employees. His lean-based approach aligns people, product and process to drive sustainable growth. Away from the office, Frank enjoys being an avid family man and outdoorsman.

Senior Corporate Counsel - CA Registered In-House Counsel
“Cooper” utilizes his extensive legal knowledge to lead the company through all its legal needs. He joined Gemini in 2024. Prior to becoming an attorney, Cooper played professional paintball.
