For more than 20 years, Gemini Legal has been helping law firms win cases and improve the efficiency of their case management processes with innovative software, industry-leading services, and useful publications. The company’s intense focus on its clients has led to continuous improvement of internal processes and the creation of several technologies for in-house use that were later made available to clients – most on a complimentary basis. Our Key Milestones

2004 – Founding

Gemini Legal is founded out of a spare bedroom in Visalia, California by Dan Mora. The company name and a logo—featuring twin Lady Justices—represents the company’s first service offering of legal document discovery.

2007 – Client Portal Technology

Expanding the ways in which Gemini Legal can support clients, Gemini Legal launches a unique client portal. This novel capability gives clients access to cloud-based technology for instant, 24-hour access to their orders as well as 100% status transparency, and the ability to run optical character recognition (OCR) searches.

2012 – Expanding into Southern California

The company expands its service area to better support the thousands of law firms in Southern California, particularly those focused on complex workers’ compensation litigation.

2014 – Rocklin, California Headquarters

Corporate headquarters moves from Visalia, California to the Sacramento metro area, allowing the company to access a larger talent pool and serve its clients even more effectively.

2018 – Expansion into Workers' Compensation Vouchers

Gemini Legal acquires a post-settlement vocational counseling company that helps injured workers re-enter the work force. This new capability allows the company to serve both law firms and their workers’ compensation clients directly. Gemini Legal eventually becomes the only legal support firm in California to have two in-house certified vocational rehabilitation counselors.

2019 – JetFiler Software

JetFiler is launched, giving clients a way to electronically file workers’ compensation claims via an online portal while also streamlining records filing and processing. This Gemini Legal technology becomes the industry standard by which all electronic court filing and court documentation systems are judged.

2021 – Corporate Citizenship Award

The Sacramento Business Journal recognizes Gemini Legal for serving basic needs and making a positive impact on the Sacramento metro area, supporting its reputation for putting ethics and people first.

2021 – Gemini Legal Acquires Med-Legal Intellectual Property

A shift in the legal support industry leads to unprecedented growth opportunities so the company acquires the intellectual property and key staff from Med-Legal to keep pace with client needs, doubling the size of Gemini Legal overnight.

2022 – Gemini Legal Acquires Sayler Legal

The company expands even further and adds an office in the Monterey, California area by acquiring Sayler Legal.

2023 – Purchasing Corporate Office Space

Thanks to years of profitability, Gemini Legal is able to purchase its own, larger commercial office space in Rocklin, California rather than having to continue leasing. Within months, the company’s growth leads it to build out the initially-unused portion of the facility to accommodate additional hires.

2024 – JudyAI Software

To increase the speed of medical records indexing services, the company adds a team of artificial intelligence (AI) experts to build a tool for in-house use. It proves to be so valuable that, later that year, JudyAI becomes available for client self-service.
